MSE ETF Workshop 2025

The Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE) successfully
hosted a technical workshop on Exchange
Traded Products (ETPs) on Friday, 29 August
2025, at Protea Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre. The
workshop formed part of MSE’s strategic
efforts to broaden market offerings, enhance
regulatory clarity and foster stakeholder readiness
for product innovation within Malawi’s
capital markets.

The session commenced with opening remarks
by Mrs. Kelline Kondowe, Chief Operating Officer
of MSE, who emphasized the Exchange’s
commitment to deepening financial literacy and
facilitating inclusive investment vehicles. Her
presentation provided a comprehensive
overview of the ETP Guidelines. Following the
initial presentation, Mr. Douglas David Nyirenda,
Senior Operations & Compliance Officer at MSE,
led a detailed validation session of the ETP
Guidelines.

The workshop concluded with a robust discussion
session, where attendees explored the practical
implications of ETPs. Final remarks were delivered
by Mrs. Kondowe, reaffirming MSE’s openness to
collaborative refinement and stakeholder-driven
development.
